Miley Cyrus & Ke$ha (and more) cover Bob Dylan for a good cause

When the videos of Miley Cyrus and Ke$ha performing songs from rock legend Bob Dylan hit the interwebs, many were impressed with the quality of the vocals and arrangements of the song—however, it was new territory for the pop singers.

Music genres aside, Miley Cyrus and Ke$ha sung these Dylan tunes for t Amnesty International as a part of a charity music compilation; Ke$ha discussed how it felt to sing the song, “Don’t Think Twice, It’s Alright to the Rolling Stone:

Getting a chance to cover a Bob Dylan song for Amnesty International was a massive deal for me, I pulled up my Garage Band on my laptop and just sang through the song once and by the end of it I was just crying hysterically alone on my bed.

Amnesty International’s ‘Chimes of Freedom: The Songs of Bob Dylan’ will features a slew of some of today’s hottest music artists including: Adele, Elvis Costello, My Morning Jacket,  Lenny Kravitz, Bad Religion, and Queens of The Stone Age. Furthermore, the four disc compilation has an exhaustive 75-track list of Bob Dylan tributes . ‘Chimes of Freedom: The Songs of Bob Dylan’ will will be released on January 24th stateside, and is scheduled to be released worldwide on January 30th.  Before then, you can stream all of the songs from the album via Amnesty International’s Facebook page.  The album’s sales will benefit Amnesty International.

Hat tip to The Rolling Stone website which has a behind the scenes look at the making of ‘Chimes of Freedom.’ Below is a Ke$ha’s rendition of the Dylan classic, “Don’t think Twice, It’s Alright.”
