Many of our supporters traveled great distances to see the show at  NYC’s Gramercy Theatre and the whole team at GWR and the Arlington Academy of Hope thanks you!

For those that watched on Ustream or just couldn’t make it because of the distance, we thank you for getting our message out via social media! Some of our supporters, who traveled 30 miles or 300 miles or more, told GWR why they decided to make the pilgrimage for the Arlington Academy of Hope:

“I am attending the concert because it is a great cause. I believe that if you have a chance to give someone half the things you received in life then why not. I am also attending because I am co- founder of Differences Magazine.”- Ron, VA

“It makes me proud to be part of such a powerful cause and a team of passionate women (and men!) – working with the GIRLS WHO ROCK team has not only been a great learning experience for me, but it has also been a fun reason to come to my favorite city in the world – New York City! – while making positive changes to the world on a global scale.”- Jill, Dallas,TX

“I have been looking forward to attending Girls Who Rock since it was announced. I couldn’t make it last year, so I was especially excited to attend this year. As the leader of She’s the First*{Syracuse}, I knew that being part of one of STF’s signature events was important for our chapter, and I’m excited that many of our members will also be in attendance. GWR provides a great opportunity for our chapter to not only reunite during the summer, but also to meet other STF supporters while supporting the cause that means so much to us.” -Chelsea,Buffalo, NY

I have recently graduated from school and moved back to Boston for the summer.  Coming to this concert is so important to me because I want to continue to support She’s the First as much as I can.  I believe that the future of the developing world so heavily relies on the choices and actions of educated and empowered women.  Providing these girls the resources and tools they need to be educated allows them to better help their families, villages, cities, and countries to have as many opportunities as we do.  It is amazing what She’s the First has been able to accomplish for such deserving young women over the past few years.  The creative fundraising efforts of the team have provided gateways for the people of NYC and beyond to contribute to the future health and prosperity of people in many nations.- Liz, Braintree, MA

I’m so excited to attend Girls Who Rock this year! My best friend and I hosted a She’s the First fundraiser in Boston last year which sponsored seven girls in Haiti. Knowing that we did just a little bit to help girls who needed it is an incredible feeling. As a recent college graduate and someone works with children, I know the value of education. It’s so important for me to pay it forward. I’m thrilled be traveling to NYC to be with other amazing people who also know the power of an education, I can’t wait! -Lauren

“Our team immediately jumped on the chance to come rock out at Girls Who Rock NYC and support She’s the First when we heard about the amazing kids they plan to help through both organizations. Sometimes kids just need to know that people care and distance is no measure to have the chance to help make a kids life better. We support GWR and She’s the First all the way.”-Ashley, TN

Whether you come by plane, train, or even log on for GIRLS WHO ROCK 2012, we can’t wait for all you to see to the show!!!!!!!!!!
