State Dept.’s first all-women technology delegation heads to W. Africa this weekend
The State Department announced Friday that its first all-female technology delegation ever would be in Liberia and Sierra Leone from Feb. 27-March 4.
The eight women will focus on increasing access to mobile phones for women and girls, as part of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s mWomen initiative, which launched last October.
In 2005, Liberia elected Africa’s first female president.
The women in the delegation include:
